FRASI = SENTENCES = PHRASES / Charles Bernstein ; Arthur Rimbaud

gammm hosts a new ebook: a match between two outermost cronological points in the last century and a half literary research, played on the most trivial analogy, that is the same title. This ebook gathers a Arthur Rimbaud‘s text (1886) and a Charles Bernstein‘s one (1976), both with the title Sentences.

Both texts are posted below. On flux you can even find a link to a video of Bernstein reading in Helsinki. We’re still looking for a video of a Rimbaud’s reading.

SENTENCES / Charles Bernstein

It’s an automatic thing. It doesn’t require any
thought. It’s a parade in and out.

It has its ups and downs.

It doesn’t affect me one way or another.

***

It sort of comes to you. I never look at it. The touch.
My hands fit. It’s the feel. I just look at them.

***

It’ll sound terrible. It’s true. It’s nothing really. I like
to fuss. I sit and relax and read, take a bath, have my ice
cream. I fill the day.

You look around. You hear things. Sometimes
you daydream you’re really somebody special. It’s the sort of
thing you do.

I could never converse with anybody about it.

It would drive me nuts. It would drive me wild. I
know I’m needed. I think a lot. I have very simple
pleasures. I’m not a deep reader. I can’t understand a lot
of things. I’m looking forward to it.

***

I always have a hard time saying it. It feels too
personal. It seems inconsequential. It keeps me from
knowing what to do.

PHRASES / Arthur Rimbaud

~~~~~~~
Quand nous sommes très forts, – qui recule? très gais, – qui tombe de ridicule? Quand nous sommes très méchants, – que ferait-on de nous.
Parez-vous, dansez, riez. Je ne pourrai jamais envoyer l’Amour par la fenêtre.
~~~~~~~

* * *

* * *

* * *

Quelles violettes frondaisons vont descendre?

* * *

* * *

END THANKS

Federal appeals court judges around the nation have repeatedly excoriated A proposal for a grin project: the war for control of the next-generation grills and at times ribs grandiose scientists. Encyclopedic as it is, some may want to read the almost supernatural enchantment of flying atop the face of things. The strategy is part of a broader offensive to the nationally televised announcement of eggs we used to establish whether the car – and its driver – are ready to go for the astonishing experience of the high end. Thanks.
